Made in the USA using Tetra CF2™ proprietary carbon fiber, the Predator CFX is our lightest and strongest platform and raises the bar for what's possible with mobile hunting equipment. Weighing just 2.3 lbs for the Regular, and 3.25 lbs for the XL, the Predator CFX will give you the extra edge you need this fall without the extra weight. Just like there are qualitative levels with steel, aluminum, and other metals related to hardness, flexibility, and strength; the same standards apply to carbon fiber. We've partnered with arguably the top carbon fiber manufacturer in the country, famous for high performance race cars and off-road vehicle engineering.
We use a proprietary compound known as Tetra CF2™ to produce parts certified to hold up to 4x the required standard at a lower weight than aluminum. My 1st platform and 1st year saddle hunting. I love the CFX XL. It's light, maneuverable, there are multiple openings to mount a single stick to it (using the tetherd one stick) and use the hanging strap to lock everything in place while walking in/out, and multiple openings to mount it to a pack (using first lite transfer lite pack). When they tell you to hang it and break it in, LISTEN to them. I hung mine relatively tight while collapsed, opened it and stepped/bounced around it on every corner and then collapsed it, stood on the arm and opened it to act as if it was in my hunting position and bounced around on it again. It creaked and cracked and made noises just as they said. I have hunted with it 4x so far this year in various conditions and it has been SILENT. Very impressed. Be careful of the buckle bumping into the saddle during hang and remove as it will make a not so fun clunk sound but still better than standard metal on metal contact. If I could choose one more model for an upgrade: How about the XLL model where it is a little longer (say 20" or so) so I can about face a bit easier as a new saddle hunter. All-in-all I'd buy this again without question.
I love this combo, very versatile, with quick and quiet setup. And the overall weight is great for long travel..
