I've been ascending with one stick for about two seasons, and this one stick is less than a pound (on my scale). My previous stick is 3.2 pounds on the same scale. I haven't needed to silence this stick because I don't really have any issues with noise using one stick, and silencing material is heavy and expensive. The shorter height makes it mildly more awkward to climb but the ease of carry makes up for it, the shorter size stick straps onto multiple packs easier. I have one pack for backpacking and a fanny pack for day trips. The only flaw is the connection system for multiple sticks but I don't have that issue, since I use only one. I usually only use the stick as a platform, compared to my old stick which had a flat top step, this one is slightly less comfortable than my old stick for my feet, due to the upturned ends. Sometimes I bring some strap on steps to aid foot support, but my system for that adds about 2lbs of weight, I only do that if I want to sit longer than 3 hours which is rare. This stick is very well built with the exception of the plastic connectors for multiple stick carrying however they included extra replacements in the box so you should be covered for at least two years (or more).
NICE AND LITE WORKS GREAT FOR ONE STICKING
I got my mini One Stick a few days ago and I’m very impressed. I use the one-stick method, and this is a huge upgrade from the Skeletor I used last season. I run it with the Phantom saddle and OG predator platform.
So far they are great, Light and very easy to use. I don’t like heights so for me they are perfect.
Have been waiting so long for the short one stick. Great size and packability!
