8mm ropes are lighter, stronger and pack down smaller than the 11mm rope. 11mm ropes are optimized for use with the Ropeman 1 Ascender. 8mm ropes work with Kong Duck or Ropeman 4 Ascenders.

With this rope we were able to develop the world’s first commercially available 8mm rope with a factory spliced eye. This is a big deal because splices are much stronger than knots by anywhere from 30%-50%. Our splices tested at over 90% rope strength. This is simply not possible with knotted loops.
Spliced eyes also reduce the weight and bulk of the rope by eliminating big knots.
We like to girth hitch our ropes to a lineman loop on the side of the saddle.

Great rope
Very high quality. As described
Bought the 11mm lineman and tether and couldn’t be happier. Seems to be high quality and I have already put my life in the Tethrd quality and craftsmanship a few times.
I don't typically write reviews, but i think its important in this case to shed some light on why these ropes are as seemingly expensive as they are. On our farm in southeast Missouri I was setting a stand on a tree with way to many limbs. Using my BRAND NEW wicked pole saw I worked up the tree, in cutting the last limb my lineman's rope found its way in the cutting path. For what had to have been more than a minute i sawed on the limb and unknown to me the rope as well. If not for the integrity of that rope I may have died or been paralyzed that day. So in short when my life hangs in the balance 20 foot up a tree, I'm picking tethrd every time!
